About the Speaker
Sue Falconer has been in nursing since 1990, when she graduated as a diploma RN from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario. Since then she has completed her BSN at University of the Fraser Valley, and her MSN at University of Phoenix. She works at Seabird Island as a member of the Mobile Diabetes Team, travelling over the southern half of the province. The team sees known diabetics who are living on reserve, as well as those at risk for diabetes who live on reserve. Sue is a Certified Diabetes Educator, and enjoys working with the clients on reserve in the mobile clinics that are a part of her working life.
Sue also teaches at the University of the Fraser Valley in the Practical Nursing Program, and enjoys this activity tremendously, but finds her time there is limited due to the need for travel that is part of the Mobile Diabetes Team requirement.
Sue has been married for 36 years, and has 3 children. Her hobbies are going to school, cooking, running, going outside to explore, and reading.
