Nutrition and Your Mental Health – in this 45 minute presentation, Rebecca will briefly discuss healthy eating practices and how they can influence, improve or decrease your mental health, possible links between nutrition and suicide, nutrition for children – setting a foundation for good mental health, nutrition and the brain, and healthy eating and recovery from addiction.

About the Speaker
Rebecca Sovdi is a Registered Dietitian and currently works in the area of Mental Health as a program manager for youth suicide prevention at Health Canada. Rebecca has worked with Health Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Branch for five years, having the pleasure of working with and travelling to many communities in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. She has worked in many areas of health promotion and nutrition include diabetes, prenatal nutrition, and food security. Rebecca is currently completing a Masters of Public Health at the University of Waterloo and hopes to graduate in 2013.
