About the Presenters:

Our names are Ali Assu, Cody Assu and Valerie Lamirande. Together, we belong to the Haida, Kwakwaka’wakw, Wet’suwet’en First Nation. Bear Essential Oils and RavenSong Soap & Candle are local Indigenous wellness brands that honor cultural knowledge, community spirit and self care.

As RavenSong Soap & Candle was founded by a Haida Elder, Cody and I are now undergoing a 2-year mentorship pathway to ownership, to continue the legacy of our stories and our culture. Honoring our Indigenous traditions and history has enabled us to weave a common thread to the present, and we are always looking for opportunities for further connection and sharing through our products and stories
