Join us as we welcome Julian Napoleon on Tuesday January 17th, 2017. In this session, Julian will explore the intersection of Indigenous land, food, culture, and sacred relationship within Treaty 8. He will be discussing parallels between the health and well-being of our communities, land, and water and the cumulative impacts of industry in our territory.

About the Presenter
Julian Napoleon is Dane-zaa and Cree from the Saulteau First Nations in northeastern so-called British Columbia. Napoleon grew up immersed in the subsistence practices of his family and community, hunting, fishing, foraging, and learning cultural protocols. As a member of the Working Group on Indigenous Food Sovereignty, Napoleon is dedicated raising awareness around Indigenous issues related to land, water, food, and community and challenging the misconceptions surrounding the dominant western capitalist ideology. |
