Join us on November 22, 2016 with Larry Leung, Lecturer and Pharmacist at the Pharmacists Clinic, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UBC. In this session we will explore the topic of “polypharmacy”, which can occur when people are taking multiple medications for one or more health conditions. We will get perspectives on the risks of polypharmacy, potential strategies to reduce the risks, and the role of pharmacists in collaborating with Indigenous communities to support healthy medication use.

About the Presenter:
Larry Leung, BSC (Pharm), RPH is a Lecturer and pharmacist in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC. As a pharmacist, he works at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic, a licensed, pharmacist-led patient care clinic. His responsibilities include providing direct patient care and leading innovative projects in collaboration with First Nations communities in British Columbia. As a Lecturer, he teaches in the pharmacy and nursing programs in a variety of topics. His academic interests include interprofessional education, Aboriginal health, and contemporary issues in pharmacy practice.
