Breast Health 101
What is Breast Health 101? Breast Health 101 is a free, informative educational opportunity delivered to a group of women, men, or both together. It’s a chance to talk about breast health, early detection, mammograms, as well as dispelling common myths around breast cancer and its causes. You’ll also learn how to be proactive in reducing your risk.
Why should I attend? Everyone has fears. Your breasts should not be one of them. Learn the basics. It could save your life or the life of someone you know.
When and Where is it? This UBC Learning Circle event happens on April 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can participate by videoconference or join via Adobe Connect if you are on your home, office, or school computer.
Presenter Biography
Amanda McNally is the Community Relations Coordinator at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation BC/Yukon Region. Before joining the Foundation in a staff capacity, Amanda was the Volunteer Run Director for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure for 3 years. Amanda has been involved with the Run as a participant and fundraiser since losing her mother to breast cancer when she was 16. Amanda’s passion for the cause comes from her desire to create a future without breast cancer so her children never know what it is like to lose their mother to breast cancer.
