The UBC Youth Learning Circle is excited and honoured to present talented actor and director William Belleau from Alkali Lake, British Columbia!

When he was in high school, William faced every teenager’s dilemma of trying to decide what he wanted to do with his life. He had acted lead roles in his school’s Christmas plays and discovered that he had a natural talent for acting. His early successes lead him to enroll in Acting 11 and 12. From there, William auditioned as an extra for The Dreamkeeper mini-series. As William stood in line to be an extra for Dreamkeeper, Casting Director Rene Haynes singled him out and requested that he read a line for a small role in the mini-series. William read and was booked, granting him his first taste of set life as an actor.
Following this break, William spent his hard-earned savings from a part-time job and flew to Orlando, Florida where he auditioned in a talent competition and was awarded a partial scholarship to the New York School for Film & Television. William completed the program in 2008 and was the first “Native American” person to graduate from this school.
William has appeared in a number of popular films including the Twilight saga where he played one of the Quileute warriors. William’s other acting accomplishments include the TV series Freedom Riders, the documentary TV series The American Experience, and the TV series Psych. This year, besides playing a part in Trevor Mack’s The Blanketing and The Dancing Cop, William was in the TV series The Killing and can currently be seen in the TV series Primeval: New World as Leo John.
