On Wednesday, November 30th, 2011, from 10:00 to 11:30am, Judy Davies-North will return to the UBC Learning Circle to lead a workshop entitled: “Suicide Intervention Training: A Brief Overview”.
Suicide Intervention Training – A Brief Overview will address warning signs, triggers and how to open a conversation with someone who may be suicidal. The importance of listening, risk assessment and safety planning will also be addressed in this 75 minute presentation followed by a time for questions and answers.
Until recently Judy (Davies) North was employed as the Child & Youth Suicide Clinician with a Vancouver Coastal Health crisis team. She gave up that position to begin private consultation and training regarding suicide intervention and postvention, and critical incident stress debriefings. She can be reached at J.NorthConsulting@gmail.com to obtain suicide and crisis related consultation or to arrange highly informative and interactive trainings.
