On Wednesday, April 20th, 2011, Dr. Michael Clifford Fabian will discuss ENT in the North with the UBC Learning Circle. This talk will cover medicine (particularly Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery) in the North. Some of the challenges with medical care for rural, remote and Aboriginal communities in the North with will be outlined.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Fabian is a clinician, administrator, educator, researcher and author. He was previously Associate Dean – Admissions and was Chair of the Aboriginal Admissions Committee. His present positions include Faculty Lead – Accreditation, MD program and Co-Chair Implementation Taskforce for Curriculum Renewal, MD Program, and is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Surgery at the University of British Columbia. He has worked in many Northern and Aboriginal communities across Canada, including Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and British Columbia. At present his clinical focus is ENT in the North.
