Join Mair Greenfield as she shares about the power of food to work towards healing and reconciliation in health care. As the Indigenous Program Manager at Nourish Leadership, Mair is working with over 700 individuals across the country to deepen understanding of Indigenous foodways and perspectives on well-being. Nourish is a non-profit working with leaders to build health for both people and the planet, starting with the hospital tray.

About the Presenters:

 

Mair Greenfield, Indigenous Program Manager, Nourish Leadership

 

Mair is devoted to working with Indigenous communities to restore traditional ways of learning and doing. For over 15 years, she has worked alongside Indigenous families and communities to ensure healthy transitions into urban areas and complex institutions. Mair has built an online repository of over 1200 digital resources to support Indigenous community requests for: language preservation, mental wellbeing and Indigenous created resources and can be found at learncloud.rumie.org. She led the Biidaaban Community Service-Learning program at Nipissing University, collaborating with Elders and community leaders to create Wiidooktaadwin and Peer 2 Peer mentorship programming. Mair is an Anishinaabe Kwe, with family from Nipissing First Nation stretching to Victoria, B.C. and is a proud member of Kebaowek First Nation.
