Ivo and Jess from the Aboriginal Youth Program are coming back! They’ll be talking about birth control and condoms.

Join youth peer educators to learn and talk about birth control options, what works and what doesn’t, giving consent, traditional ways, etc.

Send us your sexual health questions too!

Ron Dean Harris aka Ostwelve, Sto:lo Nation, will be talking to the Youth Circle.

Ron has received Best Actor nominations for his role on Moccassin Flats. He’s a recording artist, music composer for Tansi! Nehiyawetan, RPM.fm Indigenous music culture content manager, & teaches about digital media storytelling for Aboriginal youth.

Sport & Culture: All Native Basketball

Willis Parnell will be talking to the Youth Circle about the annual All Native Basketball tournament.

Nang Laay gaas (One Who Plays All Games) is from the Haida Nation & has competed in the All Native for 23 years. This year he’s being inducted into the All Native Tournament Hall of Fame!

He’ll talk to the Youth Circle about:

  • the tournament as a unifying & empowering event
  • his basketball journey
  • achieving our goals

Ivo and Jessica returned from YouthCO’s Aboriginal Youth Program to discuss HIV prevention from Aboriginal youth perspectives.

Lake Babine First Nation hosts the Youth Circle, with speakers Karl Casimir and Darcy Dennis. They’ll talk about “Living with Guidance: from the party lifestyle to culture, traditions and Elders.”

Kasp Sawan, from the Driftpile Cree Nation, spoke to the Youth Circle.

K.A.S.P. had a challenging life of trauma, foster care, street life and addiction. He turned to hip hop to deal with his harsh reality. Today he shares his story with youth to motivate them to persevere against all odds.

This session also featured K.A.S.P.’s music!
