Eating Healthy from Toddlers to Teens

Gerry Kasten, Registered Dietitian (FNHA) will be reviewing the latest recommendations for involving children in choosing healthy food and creating nutrition in their own diet. This session focuses on lessons for parents in involving kids with food choices.

The ABC’s of Growing Up

Denise Findlay (Kweykway Consulting) is a Facilitator, wife and parent of two boys who will discuss human development and coming of age. This session focuses on the 3 main elements of growing up: attachment, becoming and community and how these elements contribute to a successful transition into adulthood.

Myths and Truths About Diabetes: Coyote’s Lies or Eagle’s Wisdom

Registered Dietician Rebecca Sovdi  (FNHA) has worked in First Nations health for 7 years. In this interactive session, Rebecca explores common messages you may have heard in regards to diabetes and helps you decide if the messages are wisdom from Eagle OR myths told by the trickster Coyote.
