Charles Brasfield is doubly qualified as a psychiatrist and as a clinical psychologist. He holds the degrees of M.D., Ph.D., and is an FRCPC. He is the Director of the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic and was a Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, UBC. He has been on active staff at Lions Gate Hospital, and remains on Courtesy Staff. He has long been active in Aboriginal Mental Health and currently provides outreach psychiatric services to Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Hazleton and Fort Nelson. He also provides videoconference TeleHealth services to each of those communities. He is also on the Roster of expert examiners of Indian Residential School survivors who have completed the IAP process.
He will be talking about the services he provides to those communities, the problems that are presented and treatments that appear to be effective. He will also talk briefly about some of the psychiatric medications that appear to be useful. He will be happy to answer questions or comments.
